The Georgia Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects recently donated $500 for the purchase of new books for the Owens Library at the UGA College of Environment and Design. A variety of books were purchased including books on urban design, the profession of landscape architecture, computer modeling and design basics.
“We are so grateful to Kevin Burke and the Georgia Chapter of the ASLA for supporting our students and faculty in this concrete way. The books we purchased will be used for many years to come,” said Owens Library director, Melissa Tufts.
The Owens Library depends on donations for its collection, especially the John Long Fund and donations like the one the GAASLA just made. If you are interested in donating to the Owens Library, please contact Melissa Tufts at 706-542-8292 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Owens Library is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Staff are happy to assist with research in the fields of landscape architecture, environmental planning and design, and historic preservation. In addition to books, the library carries journals, theses and senior projects.
