Community & the Canopy: Milwaukee’s Urban Ecology Experiment, Feb. 22

February 22 @ 6:15 pm - 8:00 pm

Join Trees Atlanta and the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum for a special evening presentation in the Carter Museum theater to explore the transformative nature of Milwaukee’s Urban Ecology Center and how Atlanta can benefit by creating its own collaborative, community-based center for urban ecology.

Our speaker is Ken Leinbach, author of Urban Ecology: A Natural Way to Transform Kids, Parks, Cities and the World. Ken is also the Executive Director of the Urban Ecology Center in Milwaukee, WI, and a national leader in promoting community-based environmental education. Using environmental education as a tool for inspiring urban revitalization, the Urban Ecology Center has captured the attention of urban planners and educators across the globe.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. with light refreshments.

Program begins promptly at 7:00 p.m.

Q&A session and book signing with the author will follow. Books may be purchased on site (or reserved/paid for in advance).
