Park Pride: Park Design Workshop 2

June 17, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

As you know, Park Pride offers many programs and opportunities for communities to engage with their parks and greenspace to create positive change. This includes the Park Visioning program, which helps communities create conceptual plans, designs, and recommendations for their parks.

Part of the Park Visioning programming includes hosting an annual Park Design Workshop. This workshop is a short design charrette for people who care about their communities and who need design assistance to address a focused area of interest in their neighborhood park.

This year, we are offering two Park Design Workshops to reach even more parks on Saturday, June 10th and Saturday, June 17th, 10AM-12PM, and we need your help!

Park Pride will coordinate with community members to prepare base maps and gather information. We will then pair each community group with a volunteer designer in advance of the workshop based on project type. We will also provide basic materials: trace paper, markers, colored pencils, circle templates, scales, plant lists, and other design tools for quick and rough sketching.

We’re asking you to provide two hours of your valuable time and expertise on one (or both!) of the dates listed above to help make focused improvements in our City of Atlanta and DeKalb County parks. Volunteers will be eligible for 1 credit hour of continuing education for Public Service.

If you are interested in participating, kindly send an email to Andrew White at andrew@parkpride.org
