CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS – Sustainable Design Collaborative Atlanta (SDCA)

Sustainable Design Collaborative Atlanta has provided pro bono design services for incredible organizations in Atlanta since 2011.  We need sustainable-minded landscape architect volunteers to help produce our next integrated design solution for a deserving client.

This year, we are excited to announce a special partnership with Greenbuild Atlanta on the 2019 Legacy Project for the Metro Atlanta area. The 2019 Greenbuild Host Committee will provide a minimum of $10,000 of seed funding for the project’s execution. The SDCA will be offering design services for the selected organization to help bring the final project to successful completion by November 1, 2019.  Our design work will begin when the winning project is selected in late March, and we anticipate most of our volunteer needs to be concentrated from then through May.

Greenbuild International Conference and Expo is the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building. The 2019 Conference will take place at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta from November 20 through 22. Past Legacy Projects, such as last year’s Project Exploration’s Science Giants in Chicago, have continued to serve their communities long after the conference leaves.

Our Vision:

Enhanced communities through equal access to cross-disciplinary sustainable design solutions.

Mission:

To provide a means for pooling talent, sharing ideas, and developing programs for the betterment of the community through integrative solutions for the built environment.

Who we Are:

We are a non-profit volunteer driven organization with our members representing diverse building community organizations. Each member is a sustainable-minded professional. We are connected by our desire to provide professional design services to the 99% of the human race that does not normally have the opportunity to fund these types of services.  We began in 2010 and generally complete one pro-bono project each year. Each of our organizations are represented at the annual Red and Green Scene Holiday Fundraising event. Currently, this event provides the basis for our funding.

What we Do:

Our cross-disciplinary approach focuses on bringing holistically integrated design solutions to organizations with sustainability and community enhancement driven missions.
