We are currently seeking experienced Landscape Architect Project Manager to join our growing Community Development team. This position is located in our Jacksonville Florida, San Marco office. We are looking for a well-rounded landscape architect who is confident and capable of managing several concurrent multi-discipline design teams on both large and small projects. The Landscape Architect PM will complement and contribute to our award-winning, growth-oriented firm through valuable team management and client growth. Pond’s Landscape Architecture and Planning Studio operates from our Atlanta and Jacksonville hubs, and works throughout the Southeast on a variety of projects. The preferred candidate will lead our LA Team in Jacksonville and work closely with our Atlanta team as part of our commitment to collaborative design.
Qualified individuals must be licensed as a landscape architect in the State of Florida, at a minimum. Applicants will have experience in an A/E focused consulting environment, having completed planning, design, and detailing for a range of clients and projects. Ample experience with public parks, multi-use trails, greenways, and complete streets is a must. Education design, private sector design work, and other related public work including federal clients will also be considered beneficial.
This position will work closely with our other Community Development staff of planners, engineers and landscape architects to lead the design for diverse projects throughout the southeast. Projects will include primarily parks, trails, and greenways, support of infrastructure design with City, County, and State government agencies, and private site development design. The successful candidate shall manage multiple projects and staff in the preparation of planning and design document packages (drawings, specifications, cost estimates, reports, etc.).

This position requires experience as a landscape architect in a multi-discipline consulting environment. An accredited degree in landscape architecture and Professional Landscape Architect (PLA/RLA) registration required. The position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, emotional intelligence and the ability to work with people, and strong presentation skills.
The candidate should be proactive and willing to work with our larger team in Atlanta, GA. The PM shall be able to work self-sufficiently and be comfortable with communicating independently with clients and permitting jurisdictions.
The following landscape architectural experience is desired: master planning of large areas and site specific master plans, design of initial site layouts, including building placement, vehicular and pedestrian access, parking lots, etc.; design of site grading plans including cut/fill calculations; design of site/hardscape details and the ability to review plans for technical quality; a history of construction administration in which the candidate has attended OAC meetings, responded to RFIs, reviewed submittals, and has seen multiple projects through construction to successful completion.
Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are needed, and the candidate should be a self-motivated, team-oriented and flexible individual who possess the initiative and ability to tackle new projects and challenges.
Proven ability to successfully manage project budgets and profit is required.
Strong oral and written communication skills are needed, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, conduct effective client presentations, and prepare written reports to a high standard.
This position requires a current valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
LEED AP, SITES AP, and/or PMP certification(s) are a plus.
AutoCAD, Adobe Suite of Products, Newforma, MS Office & Deltek Vision experience preferred.
Experience with supervision and mentoring of junior staff required.
Experience with the preparation of scopes of work and fee proposals is preferred.
